In the first insight into the people of GPS, Account Handler Steven Barron speaks about his role in the company and what made him join the business just over a year ago.
What attracted you to GPS?
I met Gary (Big Dog as I call him) at a networking Breakfast group that we both attended and we got to know each other well. I was working 6/7 days a week in my last role and was not getting the right work life balance and Gary offered me an opportunity to come and work for GPS in a nice environment and I believed him!!
What was your background before joining GPS?
My degree was in Human Resource Management and I then worked for Booker Cash & Carry before joining Barnet Football Club where I was for 5 years working directly for the owner in a number of different roles.
What have you learnt since joining GPS?
That insurance is not as boring as people may think.
What does your job involve?
I deal with most of our Property Clients – dealing with claims, renewals and any other help they require.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I enjoy providing a great service to our clients and also get to go to Portugal once a year!
What do you like most about working at GPS?
I like working with Gary and Jean as they are a great team and we always have a laugh.
